What Are Budgets in Spendify?
Budgets in Spendify let you set a monthly spending limit for specific categories — like dining out, groceries, entertainment, or shopping. As you spend, Spendify tracks your progress in real time so you always know how much room you have left.
Creating Your First Budget
Navigate to the Budgets section from the bottom navigation bar.
Tap Create Budget or the + button.
Choose a category you'd like to budget for (e.g., Dining, Groceries, Entertainment).
Set your monthly limit — this is the maximum amount you want to spend in that category each month.
Tap Save and your budget is live!
How Spending Is Tracked
Once your budget is set up, Spendify automatically tracks your spending against it in real time. Every transaction that matches your budgeted category counts toward your limit.
You'll see:
Amount spent so far this month
Amount remaining in your budget
A visual progress bar showing how close you are to your limit
This makes it easy to see at a glance whether you're on track or need to slow down.
Automatic Categorization
You don't need to manually tag transactions for them to count toward your budgets. Spendify automatically categorizes your transactions based on the merchant, so your budget progress stays up to date without any extra work on your part.
If a transaction is miscategorized, you can always update its category manually — and your budget totals will adjust accordingly.
Tips for Effective Budgeting
Start with one or two categories — don't try to budget everything at once. Pick the areas where you tend to overspend.
Be realistic — set limits based on what you actually spend, then gradually reduce them over time.
Check in regularly — glance at your budget progress on the dashboard to stay aware of your spending throughout the month.
