Managing connected bank accounts

Adding, removing, and switching between Plaid and FinanceKit connections

Understanding your bank connections

Spendify connects to your bank accounts to automatically pull in your transactions and balances. There are two ways to connect, depending on your device:

  • Plaid — Available on both iOS and Android. Plaid securely links to thousands of banks and credit unions by signing into your bank's online portal.

  • Apple FinanceKit — Available on iOS only. FinanceKit uses financial data already stored on your iPhone through Apple's ecosystem, so there's no separate bank login required.

Both connection types keep your data up to date automatically. You can use either one, or even both if you'd like.

Adding a new bank account

  1. Open the Spendify app.

  2. Go to the Accounts screen.

  3. Tap the Add Account button (+ icon).

  4. Choose your connection method:

    • Connect with Plaid — Search for your bank, sign in with your online banking credentials, and select the accounts you'd like to link.

    • Connect with FinanceKit (iOS only) — Grant Spendify permission to access your Apple FinanceKit data and select the accounts to sync.

  5. Once connected, your accounts and recent transactions will begin syncing right away.

Removing a bank connection

If you no longer want a bank account connected to Spendify:

  1. Go to the Accounts screen.

  2. Tap on the account you want to remove.

  3. Tap Remove Connection.

  4. Confirm the removal.

Good to know: Removing a bank connection does not delete your historical transactions. All the transaction data that was already synced will remain in your Spendify account. Only future syncing for that account will stop.
