Why Connect a Bank Account?
Linking your bank account lets Spendify automatically import your transactions, track your balances, and give you a complete picture of your finances — all in one place. You can connect checking accounts, savings accounts, credit cards, loans, and more.
Option 1: Connect via Plaid
Spendify uses Plaid to securely connect to thousands of banks and financial institutions. Plaid is a trusted financial data provider used by many popular finance apps.
How It Works
From the app, tap Connect Account or navigate to Accounts and tap the + button.
Plaid's secure connection window will open. Search for your bank or financial institution by name.
Log in with your bank credentials through Plaid's secure interface. Your login details are handled entirely by Plaid — Spendify never sees or stores your bank credentials.
Select the accounts you'd like to link (e.g., checking, savings, credit card).
Confirm the connection and you're done!
Is Plaid Safe?
Yes. Plaid uses bank-level encryption and is trusted by millions of users. Your bank credentials are entered directly into Plaid's secure interface and are never stored by Spendify. Spendify only receives your account balances and transaction data.
Option 2: Apple FinanceKit (iOS Only)
If you're on an iPhone, you have an additional option: Apple FinanceKit. This syncs your financial data directly from your device using Apple's built-in financial data framework — no third-party service involved.
How It Works
When connecting an account, look for the Apple FinanceKit option.
Grant Spendify permission to access your on-device financial data.
Your accounts will sync directly from your iPhone to Spendify.
FinanceKit is a great choice if you prefer to keep your data entirely on-device without going through a third-party provider.
What Happens After You Connect?
Once your account is linked, Spendify will begin syncing your accounts and transactions automatically. Your balances will update regularly, and new transactions will appear as they're processed by your bank. There's nothing else you need to do — just sit back and let Spendify keep everything up to date.
