Troubleshooting steps when you're not receiving notifications

Check Your Device's Notification Permissions

The most common reason for missing notifications is that permissions haven't been granted to Spendify on your device.

On iOS

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Scroll down and tap Spendify.

  3. Tap Notifications.

  4. Make sure Allow Notifications is turned on.

  5. Ensure your preferred alert styles (Lock Screen, Notification Center, Banners) are enabled.

On Android

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Tap Apps (or Apps & notifications).

  3. Find and tap Spendify.

  4. Tap Notifications and make sure they're enabled.

Check In-App Notification Settings

Spendify has its own notification settings that control which alerts you receive. Open the app, go to Settings, and look for Notifications to make sure the types of notifications you want are turned on.

Check Do Not Disturb and Focus Modes

If your device is in Do Not Disturb mode or an iOS Focus mode, notifications from Spendify may be silenced. Check your device settings to make sure Spendify is allowed to send notifications during your active Focus mode.

Make Sure Your App Is Up to Date

Older versions of Spendify may have notification issues that have since been fixed. Check the App Store or Google Play Store for any available updates.

Try Toggling Notifications Off and On

Sometimes simply turning notifications off and back on again can resolve the issue:

  1. Go to your device's notification settings for Spendify.

  2. Turn notifications off.

  3. Wait a few seconds, then turn them back on.

A Note About Notification Privacy

By design, Spendify notifications do not display sensitive financial details (such as dollar amounts or account names) on your lock screen. This is an intentional privacy feature to keep your financial information secure. The full details are always visible when you open the app.
